San Miguel Attorneys, P.C. is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for our boutique firm specializing in Commercial Litigation, Cross-Border and Corporate matters. The role emphasizes calendar control, file management, and supporting trial preparation.

Qualified candidates should be bilingual (English-Spanish), hold a Paralegal certificate, and have at least two years of law firm experience, with preference to Business or Real Estate firms.

Formación

• Bi-lingual, English - Spanish, preferred.
• Completion of a course of study offered by a college/university especially for Paralegals, evidenced by certification.
• A Litigation Paralegal should have at least 2 years’ experience in a law firm; preference for Business/Real Estate firms.

Responsabilidades

• Case management: discuss initial case assessment with attorney and track deadlines.
• Maintain calendars and ensure deadlines are added to CMS and case management boards.
• Identify scheduling conflicts; organize upcoming appointments, court appearances, and tasks.
• Triage client communications via phone and email.
• Maintain client records in CMS and Clio Connect; manage physical and electronic files.
• Assist with case work: investigate assets, draft motions and orders, discovery requests/responses, trial prep, and evidence indexing.

Job Description

Essential Duties:

• Case Management

  • Discuss initial case assessment with assigned Attorney
  
  
  • Ensure calendar deadlines and case milestones are added to the Firm’s Master Calendar in the Case Management System and the Firm’s Transactional Board ensure no deadlines are missed and cases move forward
  
  
  • Identify and resolve calendar scheduling conflicts
  
  
  • Review upcoming daily, weekly, and monthly appointments, court appearances and tasks to prioritize workload
  
  
  • Triage client communications to follow up via phone and email as required
  
  
  • Maintain accurate client records in the Case Management System (CMS) and in Clio Connect
  
  
  • Maintain physical and electronic client case files
  
  
  
  

• Perform case work

  • Investigate parties for assets and previous lawsuits in case of collecting in breach of contract cases;
  
  
  • Moving cases forward by maintaining client files and timely review of records and bills,
  
  
  • Review accounting records;
  
  
  • Draft motions,
  
  
  • Draft proposed orders,
  
  
  • Draft discovery requests or responses,
  
  
  • Support trial preparation work and trial binders,
  
  
  • Draft demand letters,
  
  
  • Perform basic legal research,
  
  
  • Collect litigation evidence and indexing it with Bates Stamps numbers,
  
  
  
  

Education & Experience

• Bi-lingual, English - Spanish, preferred


• Completion of a course of study offered by a college or university especially for Paralegals, as evidenced by certification as a trained Paralegal.


• A Litigation Paralegal should have at least 2 years’ experience working in a Law Firm. Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience working in Business Law Firms or Real Estate Firms.
