General Description:
Provide claims advocacy and consulting services for USI’s most complex Commercial Lines clients. While this position offers a remote opportunity, the qualified employee will live in USI's Midatlantic region.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct claim reviews in conjunction with service plan. Monitor and measure financial impact of USI reviews and communicate results to client.
- Negotiate with carriers to develop special account instructions.
- Analyze loss trends and business issues. Tailor service plan to address adverse trends and mitigate claim duration, severity, and costs using claims management solutions.
- Advocate on behalf of clients on claim denials, reservation of rights, negotiating optimal coverage position.
- Assist client with evaluation and reporting of complex claims.
- Review reserving accuracy on specific claims.
- Develop action plans and assist with resolution of complex/high exposure or high-profile claims.
- Provide guidance on litigation management and medical management solutions.
- Partner with risk control and analytics/placement team to identify loss trends and develop a comprehensive program focused on reducing total cost of risk.
- Contribute insights and client solutions in USI team huddle meetings.
- Navigate clients through complex claims including Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Directors & Officers (D&O), and Errors & Omissions (E&O).
- Evaluate third-party administrators (TPAs) and install TPA or carrier alongside client.
- Remain current with Carrier and TPA service and technology capabilities, industry trends, development around key case law, and industry claims solutions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 8+ years in a claims administration role for a Commercial Lines agency required.
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- Property & Casualty license preferred.
- Detailed understanding of multiple lines of commercial coverage (generally workers compensation, liability, property, or marine & energy). Claims expertise in at least one line.
- Comfortable with internet-based programs and expertise in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong understanding of loss forecasting, experience mods, reserve analysis, collateral, etc.
- Expertise in business, negotiation, and data interpretation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively delivering messages to C-suite audiences.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
