Houchens Insurance Group in Franklin, TN is seeking a motivated Property and Casualty Insurance Producer to drive growth in our employee-owned agency. You will serve existing clients and prospect new business within a team-focused environment.

The role offers variable compensation with growth, ESOP ownership, and strong development opportunities. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent insurance experience, and licenses are required, with designations encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years of insurance or business sales experience.
• Must hold applicable state insurance license or have ability to obtain within 90 days; valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain insurance designations per the organization’s education plan.

Summary

Sells insurance to new and current clients by performing the following duties.

40% Client/Policy Services

• Gaining a thorough knowledge of the client’s overall business, including individual concerns.
• Analyzing clients’ insurance and risk needs by making observations, identifying objectives, and developing strategies.
• Directing sales function in the placement of coverages, including the negotiation of coverages and premiums with underwriters.
• Helping policyholders settle insurance claims in the event of a loss.
• Anticipating future needs and calls on established clients to renew and upgrade accounts.
• Developing long-term relationships with clients and underwriters.

40% Prospecting & Accomplishment of Annual Goals

• Performing prospecting necessary to achieve new business goals set by the VP of Sales.
• Determining avenues to achieve sales goals (may include cold calling, referral opportunities, and association/industry involvement)
• Ensuring the collection of premiums.
• Taking ownership of accounts.

• Utilizes strong organizational and time management skills in order to maintain efficiency.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years of insurance experience and/or business sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications

Must hold applicable state insurance license or have the ability to obtain such within 90 days of employment. Must hold a valid Driver's License. Must be able to obtain insurance designations as set forth by the organization’s education plan.
