Job summary

Bank of Hope in New Jersey is seeking a seasoned Commercial Lending professional to assess risk, analyze cash flow, profitability, and prepare loan presentations that reflect borrower strengths and weaknesses.

You will evaluate collateral, monitor loan covenants, assist in loan closings, ensure regulatory compliance, and grow customer relationships through site visits and regular meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3-5 years of commercial lending experience.
• Korean language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep abreast of industry changes, local economic, financial and legislative events which may impact commercial lending.
• Analyze cash flow, liquidity, profitability, leverage and other financial ratios and evaluate collateral and other credit information.
• Prepare loan presentations covering risk, strengths and weaknesses of borrowers.
• Recommend or deny loan requests in line with banking regulations and bank policies.
• Gather documents to perfect security interests in collateral.
• Detect early warning signs of problem loans and notify supervisor.
• Monitor loan covenants and report any violations.
• Assist in loan closing and funding including obtaining signatures.
• Analyze collateral values and insurance coverage.
• Submit reports of calls made and document customer contact.
• Meet customers regularly and seek opportunities to grow relationships.
• Conduct site visits and interviews under a portfolio manager.
• Comply with regulatory requirements (Reg B, HMDA, BSA, OFAC, USA Patriot Act, CRA, Privacy, Security).
• Mentor junior lending staff.
• Occasional local travel for client meetings with Relationship Managers.
• Participate in community organizations to help CRA objectives.
