Job Description

Title: Credit Manager

The Credit Manager is responsible for underwriting commercial loans in accordance with WEOKIE policies and procedures, while adhering to federal regulations.

  1. Analyze and underwrite new credits, including analysis of cash flow, financial condition, management ability, collateral valuation, and economic conditions. Assign each credit request a risk rating and present for approval.
  2. Complete annual reviews on existing credits, analyzing cash flow, financial condition, management ability, repayment history, and economic conditions. Evaluate compliance with loan covenants and provide recommendations for borrower financial management. Assign risk ratings accordingly.

Additional responsibilities include:

  1. Providing assistance to commercial lenders regarding loan structure and participating in member and prospect calls.
  2. Supporting supervisor in satisfying regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operational controls. Reporting gaps to leadership.
  1. Managing and leading the credit analysts’ team, ensuring adherence to credit policies and procedures.
  1. Portfolio management: Monitoring loan concentrations, conducting stress testing, and recommending risk ratings.
  1. Delivering superior service to member-owners and prospects, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  1. Achieving and exceeding goals for commercial loan growth and timeliness/accuracy of work.
  1. Ensuring timely responses to calls and accurate, timely report preparation.
  1. Building credibility and respect with business leaders, positioning WEOKIE as a trusted financial advisor.
  1. Communicating WEOKIE's vision and mission effectively.
  1. Conducting activities efficiently, with minimal errors, following policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate losses, errors, and risks.

Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business-related field is required. Additionally:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business or financial institutions.
  • Ability to learn and apply complex concepts.
  • Understanding of the credit union movement and WEOKIE products/services.
  • Proficiency with relevant software.
  • Knowledge of income statements, balance sheets, and financial documents.

Physical Demands: Must frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate. Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment: Moderate noise levels, with accommodations available for disabilities. No substantial exposure to adverse conditions.
