You will lead a team, win and deliver exceptional work, manage projects profitably, and mentor the next generation. This role offers autonomy to scale the practice with a forward-thinking approach and potential for ownership.

The ideal candidate has extensive client contacts, a P.E. license, and strong leadership, communication, and business development skills to drive growth.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience managing land development projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Extensive client contacts with developers, architects, planners or landowners.
• Strong AutoCAD Civil3D technical skills.
• Business development: proposals, scopes of work, budgeting.
• Effective communication across all levels of the organization.
• Mentor staff and allocate resources positively.
• Proven track record of profitability in land development projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Land Development team and manage key client relationships.
• Provide vision, strategic planning and goal setting for the practice.

Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Practice Builder to expand our Land Development practice in Phoenix, Arizona. As a Practice Builder at Kimley-Horn you will serve clients by winning and delivering exceptional work, managing projects profitably, and mentoring the next generation. This position offers extensive autonomy to lead, direct, and scale the practice with a forward-thinking approach.

Responsibilities

• The qualified individual will lead a Land Development team while building and managing relationships with key clients
• Leadership responsibilities include:
  • Operating with integrity and sound business principals
  • Providing vision, business planning and strategy
  • Establishing goals
  • Building and maintaining positive client relationships
  • Having open communication with your partners and team
  • Growing and leading a land development practice
• Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
• The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business
• With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience managing land development projects
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
• Extensive client contacts and relationships with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners and/or land owners
• Strong technical skills with AutoCAD Civil3D
• Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work
• Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
• Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
• Demonstrated ability to manage land development projects profitably
