Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Practice Builder in Mesa, Arizona to lead and expand the Land Development practice, delivering exceptional work for clients while driving profitability and staff growth.

You will have significant autonomy to shape the practice, mentor teams, win work, and build relationships with key clients, with a strong path toward ownership for high performers.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience managing land development projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Extensive client contacts with architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners and/or land owners.
  • Strong AutoCAD Civil3D technical skills.
  • Business development and marketing experience including proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting.

  • Provide vision, business planning, strategy, and goal setting.
  • Grow and mentor staff and transition work to qualified personnel.
  • Direct resources and ensure projects are profitably managed.

Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Practice Builder to expand our Land Development practice in Mesa, Arizona. As a Practice Builder at Kimley-Horn you will serve clients by winning and delivering exceptional work, managing projects profitably, and mentoring the next generation. This position offers extensive autonomy to lead, direct, and scale the practice with a forward-thinking approach.

Responsibilities
  • The qualified individual will lead a Land Development team while building and managing relationships with key clients
  • Leadership responsibilities include:
    • Operating with integrity and sound business principals
    • Providing vision, business planning and strategy
    • Establishing goals
    • Building and maintaining positive client relationships
    • Having open communication with your partners and team
    • Growing and leading a land development practice
  • Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
  • The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business
  • With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership
Qualifications
