Grand Canyon University’s Facilities department is seeking a full-time Commercial Kitchen Equipment Supervisor.
Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:
- Responsible for supervisory duties including recommendation for hire/termination, evaluation, coaching, training, and discipline.
- Verify employee timesheets for accuracy; approve and submit.
- Assist with the development, oversight, and implementation of Commercial Kitchen Equipment strategy.
- Track Commercial Kitchen Equipment, inventory, and equipment.
- Assign duties to staff and inspects work activities.
- Ensure all equipment utilized is in good working condition; make recommendations for equipment repair and maintenance.
- Ensure all crew members follow university and OSHA guidelines in performance of daily work; ensure all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is utilized daily by all crew members.
- Train and instruct employees in new methods or procedures.
- Must be able to read and interpret mechanical blueprints or schematics to ensure assembly or repair is accurate.
- Prepare sketches of proposed work and assists in the design and specifications of planned jobs or contracts.
- Ensure budgeting guidelines are met; prioritizes expenditures to stay within budget; assists in the preparation of capital and operations budgets.
- Provide recommendations to management to facilitate the use of environmental best practices in the maintenance and upkeep of GCU facilities and assets.
- Evaluate workload and schedule of service work in a way that best utilizes service technicians.
- Evaluate corrective and preventive maintenance workload.
- Assign work orders according to university service level agreement and in a manner that most efficiently utilizes assigned technicians.
- Perform electronic recordkeeping related to corrective and preventive maintenance.
- Track and close assigned work orders; will monitor work orders assigned to team and assist them in managing work orders.
- All other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used and Responsibility
- Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, and Workday Integrated Work Management System (iWMS).
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise Commercial Kitchen Equipment employees.
Experience/ Education
- Five years of Commercial Kitchen Equipment experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceDegree required.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
