Job summary

Grand Canyon University (GCU) is seeking passionate adjunct instructors to prepare the next generation of professionals and leaders. In-person, on-campus instruction for the Foundational Culinary Skills course at the GCU Main Campus in Phoenix, AZ.

The role requires a Masters in a related field and at least 5 years of culinary leadership experience in hospitality. PhD/DBA may be preferred for advanced roles, with Spring 2027 term.

As an adjunct, you will provide engaging, high-quality instruction while supporting student success in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. Foundational Culinary Skills

This course provides students with the essential knowledge and practical techniques required for professional food service operations. The course integrates food safety protocols, fundamental cooking methods, and food science principles to establish a solid foundation for careers in culinary arts and food service. Students develop proficiency in knife skills, stock and sauce preparation, soup making, and basic menu planning while preparing for the industry-standard ServSafe Manager certification. The course emphasizes hands‑on learning in a professional kitchen environment, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application to prepare students for advanced culinary coursework and entry-level positions in the food service industry.
