Job summary

Paylocity in the Boston area seeks a field service technician to inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain a broad spectrum of commercial gas, electric, and steam equipment, including ovens, fryers, grills and steamers. You will troubleshoot issues, perform preventative maintenance, and read electrical schematics and blueprints.

The role requires on-call rotation participation, strong communication, and the ability to work with peers and customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in service/maintenance of commercial gas, electric, and steam equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Safety conscious with good listening and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain a broad spectrum of commercial gas, electric, and steam equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, ranges, etc.).
• Troubleshoot issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Read electrical schematics and blueprints to guide repairs.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service.
• Communicate effectively with customers and peers.
• Possibly drive a van and perform related shop/warehouse duties.
• Maintain safe driving record and comply with guidelines.

Job Description/Qualifications:

Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain a broad spectrum of commercial gas, electric, and steam equipment, including, but not limited to: All cooking equipment (combi ovens, convection ovens, track/conveyor ovens, pizza decks, microwaves, tilt skillets, grills, griddles, broilers, electric/gas ranges) Fryers & Heat Systems, Steam & Water Line Equipment and Countertop & Food Prep Equipment

Troubleshoot

Perform preventative maintenance

Ability to read electrical schematics.

Ability to read/interpret blueprints.

Must be able to participate on an on-call rotation for emergency service.

Well versed with smart devices (e.g. Android phone and tablet) is a plus.

Relies on direction from management and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and the ability to work and communicate with peers and customers.

Work on call per schedule
