Socket.dev is seeking an experienced field technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a broad range of commercial gas, electric, and steam equipment in Boston. The role requires reading schematics/blueprints, performing preventative maintenance, and joining an on-call rotation.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience, strong problem-solving skills, and solid communication abilities to interact with peers and customers.

Job Description/Qualifications:

Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain a broad spectrum of commercial gas, electric, and steam equipment, including, but not limited to: All cooking equipment (combi ovens, convection ovens, track/conveyor ovens, pizza decks, microwaves, tilt skillets, grills, griddles, broilers, electric/gas ranges) Fryers & Heat Systems, Steam & Water Line Equipment and Countertop & Food Prep Equipment

• Troubleshoot
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Ability to read/interpret blueprints.
• Must be able to participate on an on-call rotation for emergency service.
• Well versed with smart devices (e.g. Android phone and tablet) is a plus.
• Relies on direction from management and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and the ability to work and communicate with peers and customers.
• Work on call per schedule

Lifting (approx 50 lbs.), climbing ladders and stairs; bending or stooping; extended periods of walking; regular exposure to weather conditions; operating motor vehicles; and ability to operate power and/or hand tools. Drive a van.
