Job summary

AlphaGov in Pensacola, FL is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to lead interior finish estimates, including drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and flooring. You will review plans, perform takeoffs, and prepare competitive bids while coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.

The role covers the full estimating cycle from plan review to bid submission, with emphasis on accuracy, market awareness, and value engineering.

Qualifications

• Hands-on estimating experience for interior finish trades (drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring)
• Ability to read architectural drawings, specs, contracts, and bid addenda
• Proficiency with estimating software and takeoff tools
• Knowledge of labor rates, material pricing, and subcontractor costs

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for interior finish installations including drywall, framing, ceilings, and flooring
• Review blueprints and specs to establish scope and quantities
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Develop estimates using current supplier pricing and market conditions
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to resolve pricing questions
• Prepare bid packages with cost breakdowns, assumptions, and exclusions
• Maintain bid records and cost data for future use
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
• Monitor cost changes and industry trends to stay competitive
• Identify risks and propose cost-effective alternatives
