Job summary

AlphaX is seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial interior construction projects, focusing on drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and related finishes. You will review drawings, specifications, contracts, addenda, and bid documents to determine project scope.

You will perform quantity takeoffs, compute labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs, solicit quotes, analyze proposals, and develop competitive pricing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial interior construction.
• Direct estimating experience with commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior finishes is required.
• Strong understanding of commercial interior construction methods, materials, installation sequencing, and cost structures.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, addenda, and bid documents.
• Hands-on experience with quantity takeoffs and detailed commercial bid preparation.
• Experience evaluating and comparing subcontractor and supplier proposals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial interior construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, addenda, and bid documents to determine project scope.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Request and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes; compare proposals and verify scope coverage.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and cost risks; develop competitive pricing.
• Prepare bid proposals with detailed pricing, scope descriptions, assumptions, exclusions, and alternatives.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to clarify scope and pricing.
• Maintain estimating databases, bid tracking logs, and historical cost information.
