Advanced Drywall Solutions is seeking an Estimator in the Dallas area to price commercial framing and drywall work, taking projects from plans and specs to a complete bid and handing awarded work to the field team with a defined scope and budget.

The role requires 3+ years of estimating experience in the trade, the ability to read architectural/MEP drawings, and proficiency with digital takeoff tools and Excel. Collaboration with general contractors and suppliers is essential to win margins.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience with commercial framing, drywall or interiors subcontractor or equivalent field experience.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings and project specifications.
• Working knowledge of light-gauge metal framing, gypsum board systems, fire-rated and acoustical assemblies, and finish levels.
• Proficiency with digital takeoff software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage several bids against tight deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication with general contractors, suppliers and internal teams.

About the role

Advanced Drywall Solutions is hiring an Estimator to price commercial framing and drywall work and win the right jobs at the right margin. You will take projects from plans and specs to a complete, defensible bid, then hand awarded work to the field team with a clean scope and budget.

This role works closely with general contractors, project managers, superintendents and suppliers. It suits someone who knows how interiors actually get built, not just how they are drawn.

Key responsibilities

Bid review and takeoff

• Review plans, specifications, addenda and bid documents to define the framing and drywall scope.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for metal stud framing, wood and cold-formed framing, drywall, shaft wall, ceilings and soffits, insulation, acoustical treatments, FRP, and related items.
• Identify wall types, fire and sound ratings, UL assemblies, deflection and bracing requirements, and level-of-finish callouts.
• Track bid invitations, due dates and pre-bid meetings, and keep the bid log current.

Pricing and proposals

• Build estimates covering material, labor productivity, equipment, lifts, scaffolding, freight, waste and general conditions.
• Request and compare pricing from suppliers and lower-tier subcontractors.
• Write clear proposals with defined inclusions, exclusions, clarifications and alternates.
• Submit bids on time and follow up with general contractors on status and scope questions.

Risk and value

• Flag design conflicts, scope gaps and constructability concerns, and submit RFIs during bidding.
• Propose value-engineering options that reduce cost without compromising code compliance or performance.
• Review contract terms, schedules and site logistics for cost and risk impacts.

Handoff and feedback

• Turn awarded bids over to project management with the scope, budget, takeoff and key assumptions.
• Price change orders and pending change requests during construction.
• Compare job-cost results against estimates and update unit costs and production rates.
• Maintain historical cost data and estimating templates.
