Schedule: Hybrid – 3 Days In-Office / 2 Days Remote or In the Field

Salary: 60-70k base with 20% new business commissions and 15% renewal business commissions

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively identify, prospect, and develop new middle-market commercial insurance clients.

• Generate new business through cold calling, networking, referrals, centers of influence, and community relationships.

• Build and maintain a profitable book of commercial insurance business.

• Develop relationships with business owners, executives, and key decision-makers to understand their insurance and risk management needs.

• Present tailored commercial insurance solutions across Property, General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Commercial Auto, Umbrella, and other specialty coverages.

• Manage the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting and relationship development through proposals, negotiations, and closing.

• Collaborate with internal account management teams and carrier partners to ensure successful client onboarding and retention.

• Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional insurance products and expand existing client relationships.

• Represent the agency at networking events, client meetings, and industry functions.

• Play an active role in expanding the agency's middle-market commercial insurance presence throughout New Jersey and surrounding markets.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial insurance sales experience, preferably within an independent agency or brokerage environment.

• Experience prospecting, selling, and servicing middle-market commercial insurance accounts.

• Active Property & Casualty insurance license preferred.

• Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, coverage structures, and risk management solutions.

• Demonstrated ability to generate new business and develop lasting client relationships.

• Comfortable with cold calling, networking, and independently developing a sales pipeline.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong work ethic, competitive drive, and desire to grow.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

• Self-motivated, accountable, and comfortable working in a smaller, collaborative agency environment.
