Job summary

Brown & Brown in Carpinteria, CA is seeking a Commercial Account Manager to support Producers by applying advanced insurance expertise and managing a book of business with autonomy. You will coordinate renewals, process new business, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and teams.

This role involves handling submissions, proposals, and certificates of insurance, with a focus on accuracy, timely communication, and collaboration with technical assistants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 1–3 years’ experience in a similar position.
• High School Diploma required.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Exceptional telephone demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned book of business in accordance with Brown & Brown policies and procedures.
• Participate in Monthly New/Renewal Meetings.
• Renewal Processing: Create renewal submissions, coordinate process, request updated underwriting information, market/submit for quotes, prepare proposals, initiate renewal processes.
• New Business Processing: Draft/set-up applications from producer, market/submit for quotes, prepare proposals, request client cert holder lists, initiate new business, provide TA with binding details.
• Coordinate mail processing and handle all client, company, and Producer requests.
• Handle routine incoming calls regarding client coverage and limits.
• Manage all accounting requests and claims processing.
• Perform policy checking and audits including Schedule of Insurance.
• Receive, review, and coordinate certificates of insurance and order MVRs as needed.
• Train new TAs on policies and procedures.
