Job summary

Insurance Office of America (IOA) is seeking an Account Manager - Commercial Lines to oversee a book of business, retain clients, and support new business across construction, contractors, and habitational sectors. The role requires coordinating day-to-day admin and customer service, resolving complex issues, and maintaining accuracy in policy administration and billing.

Hybrid work is available with one day in NY offices or fully remote for Eastern/Central time zones.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of account management experience or 5+ years in the insurance industry.
• Active property & casualty licensing required.
• CIC designation or equivalent preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical competence and industry knowledge.
• Direct daily activities of the account management team.
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims and coverage analysis.
• Manage policy expirations and renewals.
• Prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
• Monitor delinquent accounts and collect outstanding balances.
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms.
• Communicate workload status and issues with the team.
• Deliver proactive service and meet client needs promptly.
• Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
• Seek opportunities for process improvements.
