Summary: The Commercial Insurance Account Executive (middle-market) manages daily client interactions, developing and maintaining relationships with clients and carrier representatives. Responsibilities include preparing applications, specifications, and marketing strategies for new business and renewals, with some supervision and approval. The role may involve acting as the lead consultant and primary contact for clients, with potential revenue and retention targets.

This is a full-time role with a hybrid or remote schedule.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Negotiate terms, coverage, limits, and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
  • Coordinate with Claims Department on relevant claims for clients.
  • Ensure accurate information updates to prevent E&O claims, including exposures, driver info, forms, and endorsements.
  • Maintain follow-up systems to ensure receipt of policies, endorsements, and other documentation.
  • Supervise or direct daily activities of Coordinators and Account Managers as needed.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with carriers and clients through regular contact and visits, keeping them informed of industry trends and regulatory issues.

  • Excellent written communication skills, clarity, editing, and presentation of data.
  • Confident decision-making abilities.
  • Effective interaction with diverse personalities.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Ability to analyze financial reports.
  • Technical expertise with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional, courteous handling of situations.
  • High attention to detail and problem resolution skills.
Education And/or Experience
  • BA/BS preferred.
  • Over 5 years of industry and product line experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
  • P&C Insurance License required.
  • Designations like CIC, CPCU preferred.
