Summary: The Commercial Insurance Account Executive (middle-market) interacts with clients daily, developing and maintaining relationships with clients and carrier representatives. Responsibilities include preparing applications, specifications, marketing strategies for new business, and renewals, often with supervision and approval. The role may involve acting as the lead consultant and primary contact for clients, with potential revenue and client retention targets.

This is a full-time, hybrid or remote position.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Negotiate terms, conditions, coverage limits, and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
  2. Coordinate with the Claims Department on relevant claims for assigned clients.
  3. Ensure accurate information such as exposures, driver info, reporting forms, endorsements, to prevent E&O claims.
  4. Maintain follow-up systems to receive policies, endorsements, and other information.
  5. Supervise or direct daily activities of Coordinators and Account Managers if applicable.
  6. Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and clients through regular contact and visits, keeping clients informed of industry trends and regulatory issues.
Knowledge, Skills, And/or Abilities
  • Excellent written communication skills, clarity, editing, and effective presentation of data.
  • Confident decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to interact successfully with diverse personalities.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile financial reports.
  • Technical expertise with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional and courteous handling of situations.
  • Attention to detail, decision-making, and problem resolution skills.
Education And/or Experience
  • BA/BS preferred.
  • More than 5 years of industry and product line experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
  • P&C Insurance License required.
  • Designations like CIC, CPCU preferred.
