Job summary

gpac is seeking a Commercial Insurance Account Executive to join our dynamic team in Illinois. You will ensure accurate policy updates, coordinate between clients, producers and underwriters, and lead marketing and quotes for new business and renewals.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in an independent agency, strong knowledge of commercial lines, and experience with multiple carriers. A current book of business is a meaningful plus for this role.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Property & Casualty Insurance license.
• Minimum 3–5 years in an independent agency or retail brokerage.
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial lines coverage and rating.
• Experience working with multiple carriers and underwriters.
• Familiarity with online rating software and carrier systems.
• Proficiency in insurance software applications such as Applied TAM, EPIC or AMS360.
• MS Word, Excel and Outlook proficiency.
• Existing book of business is a significant advantage.

Position Overview

As a Commercial Insurance Account Executive, you will play a pivotal role in the team, ensuring the accuracy of policy updates, facilitating effective communication between stakeholders, and contributing to the growth of the commercial insurance portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Policy Management: Accurately input policy updates and account information.
• Client Communication: Engage with clients, producers, and carrier underwriters to address policy and coverage‑related inquiries.
• Marketing & Quoting: Lead the marketing and quoting process for new business and account renewals.
• Renewal Management: Identify, compile, and oversee information regarding account renewals.
• Effective Communication: Maintain consistent and timely communication with agency clients and carrier representatives.
• Business Development: Contribute to new business acquisition.

Qualifications

• Licensing: Hold a valid Property & Casualty Insurance license.
• Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an independent agency or retail brokerage.
• Technical Expertise: Demonstrated strong technical knowledge of commercial lines coverage and rating.
• Carrier Interaction: Proven experience working with various carriers and engaging directly with their underwriters.
• Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with online rating software and various insurance carrier online systems.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in using insurance software, including Applied TAM, EPIC, or AMS360.
• Microsoft Office: Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Existing Book of Business: Possession of an existing book of business is a significant advantage.
