Sylvester & Cockrum in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Commercial HVAC Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in commercial environments. You will work on boilers, chillers, and DX systems, reporting to the Field Service Supervisor.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, Universal CFC certification, a valid NC driver's license, and strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Commercial/Industrial Service Technician with HVAC/R equipment.
• Valid NC driver's license and Universal CFC certification.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in a commercial setting. You will be working on a variety of equipment including boilers, chillers, and commercial/industrial HVAC systems.

The HVAC Service Technician reports to the Field Service Supervisor / Service Manager.

Responsibilities

As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for the following:

1. Maintaining and Servicing HVAC systems including Hydronic, Steam, Chilled Water, DX, Forced Air, Heat Pump, VAV, Constant Volume, Exhaust, Heat Recovery, and various related mechanical systems
2. Maintaining tools, supplies, and equipment
3. Performing preventive maintenance, service and repair on equipment
4. Following all safety requirements and use appropriate PPE
5. Keeping appropriate records
6. Having Flexibility to work extended shifts if needed (overtime as required)
7. Maintaining professional appearance
8. Communicating with customers

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience as a Commercial/Industrial Service Technician Service and repair experience with HVAC/R equipment including: electrical, refrigeration, gas/oil, VAV/mixing boxes, fan boxes, controls, VRF, VFD, CRAC, DX, water source heat pumps, (WSHP), chillers, boilers and related hydronic equipment
• Valid NC drivers’ license and CFC certification. (Universal)
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be able to work independently and as a team member
• Strong communication and documentation skills
