Job summary

LONG Building Technologies is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician II to join our Colorado service team. You will independently troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems in the Denver Metro area, with a company vehicle and provided clothing to ensure readiness for field work.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience working with commercial HVAC systems.
• Valid CFC / EPA 608 refrigeration certification.
• Advanced understanding of commercial heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and/or electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to independently manage commercial HVAC service calls.
• Knowledge of energy-efficiency practices and regulations.
• Ability to safely and legally operate a company vehicle.
• Ability to work after hours when needed.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, with the ability to learn additional software.

Responsibilities

• Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration systems, economizers, VAV boxes, fan-powered boxes, pneumatic controls, and related equipment.
• Perform advanced preventative maintenance according to LONG service procedures.
• Complete moderately complex commercial HVAC repairs and installations.
• Oversee smaller HVAC installation projects.
• Perform equipment start-ups and installation work involving copper and steel piping, sheet metal ducting, equipment hanging, and related components.
• Identify system issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Train and mentor apprentices and Service Technician Is.
• Participate in ongoing technical training and development toward Service Technician III.
• Complete service documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers throughout each service call.
• Follow company safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
