Job summary

Link Engineering Company is seeking a Commercial HVAC Technician, II to oversee maintenance and continuous improvements within our Dearborn & Detroit facilities. This role focuses on HVAC laboratory and test-stand equipment, ensuring reliable operations and compliance with EPA regulations.

We value an associate degree or trade certification, EPA certification, and a proactive, detail-oriented technician who can work independently and travel up to 40% as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing low-temperature industrial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Familiar with Tescor, CTS, Espec, CSZ, & Thermotron ECU units.
• Experience in refrigerant charging and recovery.
• Proven understanding of electrical & mechanical schematics to complete tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, respond, and repair laboratory and facility HVAC equipment and test stands following the ticket system.
• Oversee, develop, and drive continuous improvements within PM – Preventative Maintenance schedules for all internal HVAC laboratory and facility equipment.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC/R equipment, including cascade refrigeration systems and associated controls.
• Conduct leak detection, refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and system commissioning in accordance with EPA regulations.
• Troubleshoot and repair various electronic and mechanical-related HVAC systems across different manufacturers.
• Troubleshoot and repair miscellaneous mechanical equipment such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, heat exchangers, valves, pumps, and related HVAC/R components.
• Troubleshoot and repair low-temperature and cascade refrigeration systems.
• Support internal and external service teams with PM-preventative maintenance and calibrations on test stands per ISO-17025.
• Complete required documentation in our ticket system, in a timely and accurate manner.
• Respond to emergency service calls and equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Researches and stays abreast of regulations to support laboratory efficiency, process improvements and overall ECU run time.
• Collaborate with facility personnel, engineers, vendors, and contractors to support operational and project requirements.
• Support system upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company operating procedures.
• All other related duties as assigned.
