Job summary

Perfection Group is seeking a seasoned Commercial HVAC Startup & Commissioning Technician in Cincinnati, OH. The role focuses on commissioning newly installed commercial HVAC systems, reviewing installations, and ensuring systems operate as designed. Travel to out‑of‑town projects may be required.

You’ll work closely with project teams, engineers, and customers to troubleshoot and document startups, with significant emphasis on technical development and long‑term growth.

Qualifications

• Must have 10+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience.
• Proficient in startup, commissioning, troubleshooting of complex HVAC systems.
• Able to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation and equipment submittals.
• Strong HVAC electrical skills including interlock wiring and control circuits.
• Experience with various systems: rooftops, VAV, VVT, VRF, pumps, boilers, chillers, and related components.

Responsibilities

• Review new commercial HVAC installations for compliance with documents and specs.
• Start up, test, commission, and document equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, hydronic, and controls issues.
• Verify interlocks, safeties, setpoints, and sequences of operation.
• Train customers and end users on operation and maintenance.

Education

Universal EPA Section 608 certification

Kentucky HVAC license

OSHA 30 training

Accredited HVAC technical-school program

Driver's license

10+ years commercial/industrial HVAC experience

Blueprints and sequence of operation interpretation

Startup, commissioning, troubleshooting

Interlock wiring & control circuits

System diagnostics and balancing
