Job summary

McKenney's Inc. seeks an experienced Technician to lead startup activities and system performance evaluations on commercial construction and existing buildings.

You will document pre-functional work, maintain action item lists, and participate in the Commissioning team's testing and resolution of deficiencies. The role requires up to 25% travel, strong leadership, and the ability to mentor apprentices while communicating technical details to vendors and manufacturers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years commercial HVAC startup or service experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical School degree in HVAC/R or similar.
• Must be able/available to travel up to 25% of time.
• Valid Georgia driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Manage and perform startup activities on a variety of project types and sizes.
• Document all pre-functional activities in paperless commissioning documentation systems.
• Maintain a current action item list in commissioning documentation systems.
• Communicate job status with the project management team daily and report issues.
• Mentor Commissioning Group apprentices in assigned duties.
• Troubleshoot system problems and resolve issues identified during commissioning.
