Job summary

EMCOR Services Mesa Energy is a full-service HVAC and building automation contractor serving commercial clients in the San Leandro area. We install, inspect, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, delivering energy-efficient solutions.

We seek a Licensed Journeyman HVAC technician with EPA-608 certification and 5+ years field experience. You will diagnose systems, read blueprints, perform preventive maintenance, and support ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Licensed Journeyman HVAC with 5+ years field experience.
• EPA Certification (608) Universal license.
• Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration technician experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance including cleaning, filter changes, and lubrication.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

Job description

We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Our integrated, single-source solutions include turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance, as well as engineering applications and automated control systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Knowledge of chiller systems, refrigeration, heat pump, and HVAC equipment
• Responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment such as vacuuming, cleaning, changing filters, and oiling parts.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on HVAC systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field experience as Licensed Journeyman in HVAC
• Must have an EPA Certification (608) Universal License
• Commercial experience as a HVAC and Refrigeration Technician
• Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments.
• Participates in the ongoing training available to our crews to keep updated on the newest equipment and latest software for HVAC equipment.
• Strong oral and written communication required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Valid Driver’s license and able to maintain a good driving record.

Compensation Range:

$21.25 - $64.37 per hour. The hourly rate is determined by the CBA/rate sheet and test results. Benefits are provided through local labor union aligned with collective bargaining agreement.
