Job summary

Damon Mechanical Services in Auburn, ME is seeking an experienced HVAC technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair commercial heating, cooling, refrigeration, and control systems in Auburn and surrounding areas.

You will service chillers, boilers, heat pumps, package units, and automated controls, complete preventive maintenance, respond to emergencies, document work onsite, and communicate with the Service Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial HVAC service and refrigeration experience; 5 years preferred.
• EPA Universal 608 certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain Maine Gas License after hire.
• Oil License preferred.
• Valid State of Maine Class C driver's license.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with NG/LP gas systems and refrigeration equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems in Auburn, ME and nearby areas.
• Service heating, cooling, refrigeration, chillers, boilers, heat pumps, and control systems.
• Complete preventive maintenance, adjustments, cleaning, and calibrations.
• Respond to emergency service calls as needed.
• Document service tickets and paperwork onsite.
• Communicate progress and parts needs with Service/Project Manager.
• Mentor and assist in training other technicians.
• Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and safety compliance.

Your New Role

• Perform commercial HVAC troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs in Auburn, ME, and surrounding service areas

• Service heating, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, chillers, boilers, heat pumps, package units, and automated control systems

• Complete preventive maintenance inspections, adjustments, cleaning, and calibrations

• Respond to emergency service calls as needed

• Complete service tickets, maintenance documentation, and required paperwork accurately onsite

• Communicate job progress, issues, and parts needs with the Service Manager or Project Manager

• Assist with HVAC system modifications and repair recommendations

• Maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, and team members

• Follow company safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines

• Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and work environment

• EPA Universal 608 certification is preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial HVAC service and refrigeration systems experience required; 5 years preferred

• Ability to obtain required Maine Gas License after hire.

• Oil License preferred

• Valid State of Maine Class C driver's license

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

• Experience with NG/LP gas systems and refrigeration equipment, including walk-in coolers and freezers, strongly preferred

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, safety procedures, and operating instructions

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical job duties, including climbing ladders, bending, twisting, and working in varying temperatures

• Professional demeanor and strong customer service skills.
