Job summary

AIR Carolinas in Charleston, SC seeks an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to install, service, and startup a range of HVAC systems, including VRF, rooftop units, and packaged equipment.

Under the guidance of the Service General Manager, you will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, document service reports, and mentor junior technicians while supporting after-hours on-call rotation. This non-exempt, full-time role offers growth within the AIR Control Concepts family.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years minimum commercial HVAC service experience.
• EPA Universal Certification required; OEM-specific training or certifications preferred.
• Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and interpreting service manuals and schematics.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with a professional, team-focused mindset.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve issues on a variety of commercial HVAC systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and optimize energy efficiency and reliability.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with clear, professional communication.
• Accurately complete service reports and work orders in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and kept tools in good condition.
• Stay up to date through ongoing training and mentor junior technicians.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service coverage.
