Job summary

AIR Carolinas, a member of the AIR Control Concepts family, is seeking a Commercial HVAC Service Technician in Charlotte, NC. You will install, service, and start up a wide range of HVAC systems, including VRF and rooftops, delivering high-quality service and positive customer experiences.

You will work under the Service General Manager, diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and mentor junior technicians while adhering to safety standards and an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of commercial HVAC service experience with VRF, rooftop, and packaged systems.
• EPA Universal Certification required; OEM-specific training or certifications preferred.
• Strong diagnostics, troubleshooting, and interpretation of service manuals and schematics.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; able to pass background check and drug screening.
• Physically capable of lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working on rooftops and in tight spaces.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve issues on commercial HVAC systems; perform preventative maintenance and optimize system performance.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships; address service concerns and provide quality communication and support.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure efficient scheduling; complete service reports and related documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and ensure tools/equipment are in good condition.
• Stay current through ongoing technical training; mentor junior technicians as needed.
• Follow OSHA safety guidelines and other regulatory requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours service.
• Contribute to the team with additional duties as assigned.
