Job summary

BlueHat Mechanical in Apex/Greater Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Project Manager for commercial HVAC projects from sale to closeout. You’ll manage 10–20 active jobs, designing solutions, selecting equipment, and leading field teams to deliver safe, on-time results and maintain margin.

Work closely with the Project Coordinator on purchasing and scheduling while you drive engineering and customer satisfaction on every site.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in commercial HVAC/R with multi-project management
• NC mechanical and electrical license or ability to obtain
• Strong HVAC design skills: load calculations, equipment selection, system layout
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and change orders

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Project Manager owns our commercial HVAC projects from sold to closed out. You'll carry 10–20 jobs at once, from equipment replacements to larger conversions and retrofits. That means designing the right solution, specifying and selecting equipment, leading field teams, solving problems on site, and delivering every job safely, on time and at the margin we sold it for.

You'll work side by side with our Project Coordinator, who handles purchasing, POs, receiving and scheduling logistics. That leaves you to focus on the engineering, the field and the customer.

• You'll use modern digital tools every day to plan, document and communicate, from the office, the truck or the roof.

• This position is located in our office in Apex and will involve extensive field work (not work from home)

Qualifications and Skills

• 8+ years in commercial HVAC/R, including hands‑on field experience (service, install or foreman) and time managing multiple projects at once


• Strong HVAC design skills: load calculations, equipment selection, and duct and piping layout


• Working knowledge of DX, VRF, hydronic and chilled water systems


• Comfortable with building automation and controls, including troubleshooting and startup


• Reads and marks up mechanical drawings


• Knowledge of the Mechanical Building Code


• Proven ability to manage job budgets, schedules and change orders


• Fast learner with new software who is comfortable using data to make decisions


• NC mechanical and electrical license, or the ability to obtain one is a huge plus


• OSHA 30 preferred


• Clean driving record


• Able to climb ladders and access roofs and mechanical spaces


• Drug test and background check required
