Job summary

BlueHat Mechanical is seeking a Project Manager for commercial HVAC projects in the Apex area. You will own projects from sold to closeout, manage 10–20 active jobs, design solutions, specify equipment, lead field teams and coordinate with the Project Coordinator on purchasing and logistics.

You will protect safety on site, ensure on-time delivery, and uphold margin targets. This role requires strong leadership, field experience, and hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

8+ years in commercial HVAC project management including field experience and multi-project oversight.
Strong HVAC design skills: load calculations, equipment selection, duct/piping layout.
Knowledge of DX, VRF, hydronic and chilled water systems.
Familiar with building automation and controls, troubleshooting and startup.
Ability to read and mark mechanical drawings; knowledge of the Mechanical Building Code.
Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and change orders.
Fast learner with data-driven decision making; proficient with new software.
NC mechanical and electrical license is a plus; OSHA 30 preferred.
Clean driving record; able to climb ladders and access roofs.

Job Summary

The Project Manager owns our commercial HVAC projects from sold to closed out. You'll carry 10–20 jobs at once, from equipment replacements to larger conversions and retrofits. That means designing the right solution, specifying and selecting equipment, leading field teams, solving problems on site, and delivering every job safely, on time and at the margin we sold it for. You'll work side by side with our Project Coordinator, who handles purchasing, POs, receiving and scheduling logistics. That leaves you to focus on the engineering, the field and the customer.

This position is located in our office in Apex and will involve extensive field work (not work from home)

Qualifications And Skills

8+ years in commercial HVAC/R, including hands-on field experience (service, install or foreman) and time managing multiple projects at once
Strong HVAC design skills: load calculations, equipment selection, and duct and piping layout
Working knowledge of DX, VRF, hydronic and chilled water systems
Comfortable with building automation and controls, including troubleshooting and startup
Reads and marks up mechanical drawings
Knowledge of the Mechanical Building Code
Proven ability to manage job budgets, schedules and change orders
Fast learner with new software who is comfortable using data to make decisions
NC mechanical and electrical license, or the ability to obtain one is a huge plus
OSHA 30 preferred
