Job summary

BGIS Integrated Technical Services in Newark, NJ, is seeking a Commercial HVAC Preventative Maintenance Technician to perform routine PMs and repairs across Newark and surrounding markets. This role offers a competitive pay range, company vehicle, and extensive benefits.

Responsibilities include servicing RTUs, air handlers, boilers, chillers, pumps, and related equipment, with on-call duties as needed. Requires EPA certification and 2+ years of commercial HVAC experience.

Qualifications

• EPA Certification required.
• 2+ years of commercial HVAC service or maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background and drug screening.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Comfortable on ladders, rooftops, and in confined spaces.
• Ability to use PPE and follow safety procedures.

• Perform preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVACR systems.
• Service RTUs, air handlers, boilers, chillers, pumps, and related equipment.
• Conduct system inspections and identify maintenance or repair needs.
• Document service activities using mobile tech.
• Recommend corrective actions and system improvements to customers.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in on-call rotation as required.
• Deliver professional customer service and maintain client relationships.

BGIS Integrated Technical Services is hiring Commercial HVAC Preventative Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial building systems throughout Newark and surrounding markets.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive Pay:$25-$35/hour ($52,000–$72,800annually based off a 40 Hr. work week) + Overtime when authorized by Leadership
• On-Call Pay:$150 per scheduled on-call shift
• Paid Time Off:Start with 48 hours, increasing to 168 hours with tenure
• Paid Holidays:7 annually (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas)
• 401(k) Match:5% employer contribution

What You'll Do

• Perform preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
• Service rooftop units (RTUs), air handlers, boilers, chillers, pumps, and related mechanical equipment.
• Conduct system inspections and identify maintenance or repair needs.
• Complete service documentation using company-provided mobile technology.
• Recommend corrective actions and system improvements to customers.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
• Deliver professional customer service while maintaining strong client relationships.
