Job summary

Nelson & Company Engineered Service is seeking a Commercial HVAC Maintenance Technician in The Villages, FL. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, system inspections, and timely problem solving to uphold service quality.

You will work in a team that values integrity, reliability, and continuous improvement, with a company-provided vehicle and field support to deliver consistent results.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial HVAC experience.
• EPA License held and valid.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment.
• Inspect, clean, and service rooftop units, split systems, air handlers, VRF systems, exhaust fans, and related equipment.
• Replace and clean filters, belts, coils, drains, and other maintenance items.
• Check refrigerant temperatures/pressures, electrical components, motors, capacitors, contactors, and operating conditions.
• Document equipment condition and recommended repairs.
• Complete service reports accurately and professionally.

Job Description:

In the role of HVAC Maintenance Technician, you will be supporting Nelson & Co.’s efforts to ensure both the perception of the company and quality of service to our customers by going the extra mile to solve HVAC related problems they experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment
• Inspect, clean, and service rooftop units, split systems, air handlers, VRF systems, exhaust fans, and related HVAC equipment
• Replace and clean filters, belts, coils, drain systems, and other maintenance items
• Check refrigerant temperatures and pressures, electrical components, motors, capacitors, contactors, and operating conditions
• Identify deficiencies and potential equipment failures during maintenance
• Document equipment condition and recommended repairs
• Complete service reports accurately and professionally
• Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and work area
• Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and service management

Experience and Requirements:

Required:

• 2 years or more of Commercial HVAC experience
• EPA License
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
• Basic Computer Skills, including basic MS-Office products

Preferred:

• Multiple years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience
• Experience with installation and setup of BAS/control systems
• Knowledge in the installation and setup of VRF systems
• Understanding of cooling tower maintenance
• Experience with maintaining chilled water systems

While this job will generally allow you to go directly from your home to a jobsite in a company provided vehicle, we have our offices in Jacksonville and Orlando, Florida; and, equipment, parts, and supplies will generally be obtained from our office located in Jacksonville, FL.
