Job summary

Tri South Mechanical in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Estimator to join our growing team. You will evaluate projects, review plans, and prepare competitive cost estimates for equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractors.

Collaborating with management, installation teams, and vendors, you will help move bids through turnover and ensure timely proposals. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of independent work while building strong relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating commercial HVAC projects.
• Ability to read and interpret commercial HVAC plans and specifications.
• Understanding of HVAC equipment, materials, installation methods, and labor requirements.
• Experience obtaining and evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Review commercial HVAC plans, specifications, and project documents to determine project scope.
• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractors.
• Request and evaluate vendor, distributor, and subcontractor quotes.
• Conduct job site visits as needed to assess project requirements.
• Prepare and submit professional bid proposals within established deadlines.
• Follow up on submitted bids and maintain communication with prospective customers.
• Coordinate with the Installation team to ensure smooth project turnover.
• Participate in weekly Operations meetings and communicate project updates.
• Create awarded jobs in BuildOps and coordinate scheduling and project details.
• Work closely with management and field teams to support successful project execution.

Tri South Mechanical is looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC Estimator to join our growing team in Raleigh, NC!

In this role, you'll play an important part in evaluating commercial HVAC projects, reviewing construction plans, developing accurate cost estimates, and preparing competitive proposals. You'll work closely with management, our Installation team, vendors, distributors, and subcontractors to help bring projects from the bidding stage through successful project turnover.
