Job summary

The Position

An innovative Silicon Valley technology company specializing in advanced scientific measurement instruments and integrated monitoring solutions that combine sophisticated hardware, software, and data analytics to serve commercial, industrial, and research customers worldwide is seeking an experienced Commercial Counsel to provide immediate support to its General Counsel during a period of legal team transition.

This is an opportunity for a versatile, business-minded attorney who enjoys meaningful ownership of commercial matters while contributing to a broad range of legal department initiatives as part of a lean team.

The initial focus will be supporting commercial agreements for an international analytical instruments business, with opportunities to expand into complex technology transactions, procurement, compliance initiatives, corporate subsidiary matters, and legal process improvements.

Ideal candidates will bring substantial commercial contracting experience involving physical technology products, hardware-enabled software, or integrated hardware/software solutions. Experience in smaller, entrepreneurial legal environments is particularly attractive.

This role values attorneys who demonstrate strong judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to independently execute projects beyond their core contracting responsibilities.

This project starts ASAP, is initially 3-4 months with potential for extension or conversion, is remote for candidates that can support PT hoursor hybrid in Santa Clara, California, and requires approximately 30-40 hours/week. The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $110and $115. This range is an estimate; an employee's compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
