Job summary

DU Family of Companies’ Davis‑Ulmer team in Darien, CT is seeking a Low Voltage Fire Alarm/Security Technician to service and install commercial fire alarm and security systems. The role requires strong troubleshooting, customer service, and the ability to work safely both independently and with a team.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of field experience, a Connecticut low-voltage license or willingness to enroll, and a valid driver’s license. On-call rotation may be required.

Qualifications

• At least three years of full-time experience as a service technician or installer for commercial access control, camera, intercom, fire, and alarm systems.
• Connecticut low-voltage license or willingness to enroll in an apprenticeship program to obtain a license.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Strong time-management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test fire alarm and fire suppression systems.
• Test batteries in fire alarm panels.
• Access different types of panels for testing and service.
• Troubleshoot panel issues to determine repair needs.
• Read and use a multimeter properly.
• Provide professional customer service and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Maintain all required licenses and industry‑related certifications.
• Cover on‑call hours for customer service needs, including rotating nights and weekends.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
