The role emphasizes safety, quality control, and strong leadership to coordinate trades, manage materials, and report progress to the Commercial Project Manager in Tampa Bay.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent or Lead Foreman.
• Deep technical knowledge of commercial masonry and framing.
• Experience supervising structural phases for ground-up commercial builds.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/engineering plans and shop drawings.
• Firm but professional leadership with strong conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily field operations, leading internal crews and subcontractors to maximize productivity.
• Maintain the master project schedule on-site and coordinate daily trade sequences.
• Lay out and verify the structural shell against plans and codes on site.

Leola Construction is seeking an experienced, high-energy Commercial Field Superintendent to lead our field operations. In this role, you will be the boots-on-the-ground leader responsible for overseeing the field crews and subcontractors executing slab masonry, block masonry, and structural framing across our active commercial jobsites.

This is an active, field-based position operating across commercial jobsites throughout Hillsborough County, FL and the surrounding areas. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, commands respect on the jobsite, and brings the technical expertise to keep projects moving safely, on time, and up to code.

Here’s What You Get To Do:

• Lead Crews & Subcontractors: Direct daily field operations, leading internal crews and concrete, masonry, and framing subcontractors to maximize productivity and hold every trade accountable for workmanship and pace.
• Schedule Execution: Maintain the master project schedule on-site, coordinate daily trade sequences and hand-offs, and proactively resolve field bottlenecks to avoid delays.
• Build to Plan & Code: Lay out and verify the structural shell (foundations and slab-on‑grade, CMU/block masonry, and structural framing) against architectural and engineering plans and Florida Building Code before work is covered.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict jobsite safety standards (OSHA compliance) and maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
• Inspections & Quality Control: Conduct rigorous quality checks on all masonry and framing work, and coordinate directly with county building inspectors to clear threshold and structural sign-offs.
• Material Coordination: Verify material deliveries, manage on-site inventory, stage materials and equipment, and minimize waste or resource downtime.
• Field Documentation: Maintain daily logs, track manpower, document job progress, and report structural updates or design conflicts back to the Commercial Project Manager.

• Blueprint Proficiency: Exceptional ability to read, interpret, and work off architectural blueprints, structural engineering drawings, and shop plans.
• Leadership Style: A firm but professional leadership presence with excellent conflict‑resolution skills and the ability to manage diverse subcontractor crews.
• Tech Savvy: Comfortable using mobile construction apps (such as AppWright, SupplyPro, or similar software) on a tablet or phone for daily reporting.
