Job summary

IB Abel Inc. in Pennsylvania seeks an experienced Estimator to support the electrical division throughout the estimating lifecycle. You will analyze blueprints, specifications, quotes, and other docs to prepare inclusive bid submissions for multiple regions.

You will join a close-knit team, mentor Associates, and help drive accurate, timely estimates and competitive bids. You will collaborate across the organization, manage bid loads, coordinate with vendors, and ensure compliance with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field with estimating experience.
• Five+ years in electrical construction estimating with cost accuracy.
• Ability to read blueprints, designs, specs and proposals for estimates.
• Proficient in Accubid Estimating Software.
• Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E standards.
• Local to Central Pennsylvania with regular travel; able to work from home when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain bid checklists and adhere to bid and project delivery processes.
• Obtain vendor/subcontractor quotes and evaluate best price under policy.
• Review contracts and documents for accuracy and consistency.
• Perform material takeoffs and develop construction schedules for estimates.
• Prepare price using Excel front sheets and craft detailed proposal letters.
• Participate in estimate reviews with stakeholders; notify upon award.
• Identify milestones, LDs, and potential change orders for PM/Foreman.
