Job summary

IB Abel is seeking an electrical Estimator for our Substation Services division who will analyze blueprints, specifications, quotes, and other documents to prepare a complete, accurate bid submission.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electric construction estimating, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar, and proficiency with MS Office and Accubid Estimating Software; knowledge of MS Projects or Primavera is a plus.

Qualifications

Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
Five years or more related experience in Electric construction industry performing cost estimates.
Proficient in MS Office applications and Accubid Estimating Software.
Knowledge of Microsoft Projects and/or Primavera is a plus.
Local to Pennsylvania with occasional travel to other offices, facilities, jobsites and yards for offsite meetings; work-from-home when appropriate.

Responsibilities

Estimating Execution & Bid Preparation – review contract documents, perform material take-off, obtain quotes, input for customer deliverables.
Bid Administration & Documentation Management – upload project documents, submit RFIs, distribute qualification docs, prepare award documents.
Contract & Scope Review – review PO's, subcontracts, and contracts for accuracy; identify milestones and potential change orders; align estimates with project execution.
Project Handoff & Collaboration – assist startup communication of cost estimate basis; attend pre-construction meetings; relay insights to PM team.
