Job summary

IB Abel, Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator to support the electrical division by analyzing blueprints, specs, and quotes to prepare accurate bid submissions for multiple regions.

You’ll work with a proactive team, learn from senior estimators, and mentor junior staff while upholding integrity and precision in every estimate. The role involves bid load management, RFIs, material takeoffs, vendor quotes, and change order assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years estimating experience in electric construction with cost estimation knowledge.
• Ability to read blueprints, specs, and drawings to prepare estimates accurately.
• Proficiency with Accubid Estimating Software or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain bid checklists and adhere to bid and project delivery processes.
• Review contract documents to price scope, schedule, and drawings.
• Perform material takeoffs and develop man-hour estimates with schedules.
• Obtain quotes from vendors/subcontractors and evaluate for best price.
• Prepare detailed proposal letters or bid forms and participate in reviews.
