Job summary

Weber School District Maintenance (Dept) in West Haven, Utah seeks a Commercial Door and Hardware Installer to support construction projects, install security hardware, and maintain facilities in safe condition. This full-time role requires physical work and collaboration with administration, trades, and staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a current driver's license.
• Must be able to operate equipment used in trade including general hand and power tools, saws, manlift, forklift.
• Must have knowledge of safety practices and procedures; and health standards and hazards.
• Must be able to adapt to changing work priorities; and meeting deadlines and schedules.
• Must have a broad knowledge of carpentry, including equipment usage and maintenance; knowledge of general construction work; safety practices and procedures; and health standards and hazards.
• Experience: Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
• Diagnoses malfunctions of lock security systems for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain systems this also includes adjusting doors to get locking mechanisms aligned.
• Estimates materials and/or equipment needed to complete work projects for the purpose of ensuring timely completion of projects.
• Installs security systems (e.g. door and window locks, combination locks, cabinet and desk locks and hardware; panic hardware; etc.) for the purpose of providing security of facilities, equipment and supplies.
• Installs system component parts, classroom and office equipment and facility components for the purpose of maintaining facilities in a safe, comfortable and operating condition.
• Maintains files and records (e.g. time and/or materials used on work orders) for the purpose of ensuring an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
• Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
• Remodels office and work space including partitions, paneling, etc. for the purpose of ensuring safe and efficient utilization of space.
• Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
• Installing, servicing and Retro fitting commercial steel door frames, Hollow metal door/s and all hardware I.E. closures, Hinges, Entry Hardware.
• Field work including, conducting onsite assessments, measuring, modifying steel frames, fabricating parts as needed.
