We are looking for a Commercial Director in the Hearing Instrument Group in Demant covering North Americas and selected countries in our High Growth Cluster.
In your new role, you will be a key interface between the Hearing Instrument Group, International Sales Management, and the Sales Companies. This role, based in Copenhagen, will work closely with country-level leaders to ensure that the brand’s vision, campaigns, product offerings, and go-to-market strategies are effectively implemented to drive sales growth, enhance training programs, and manage high-impact commercial projects.
The position is vital to bridge the gap between corporate headquarters and local market execution, ensuring smooth integration and ongoing commercial success. Therefore, we hope you thrive in an international environment with many and diverse stakeholders. You will lead the way through good argumentation and solid analysis. Moreover, you will often lead indirectly through the matrix. However, your work is guided by a good collaboration model and governance that ensures that you sit at the right fora and meeting structures are in place.
As Commercial Director, you will be a part of our Commercial Operations team in the Hearing Instrument Group (HIG), you will report directly to the VP Commercial Operations, and you will join the Commercial Operations Leadership Team.
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving commercial success, fostering strong cross-functional relationships, and delivering results in a global, multi-channel environment. You should possess:
Strong Leadership & Influence Skills:
Proven ability to lead, inspire, and influence both regional and global teams to align with business objectives and drive results.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives. Ability to strive in a matrix organization.
Commercial Acumen:
Solid understanding of sales, marketing, and financial performance metrics with a strong ability to translate these into actionable strategies.
Experience in driving revenue growth in complex commercial environments, particularly in industries like healthcare, medical devices, or consumer goods.
Strong ability to understand ROI calculations, and performance analysis.
Market Knowledge & Strategic Insight:
Deep understanding of a healthcare landscape, here particularly in the hearing instruments or related industries (e.g., audiology, medical devices, consumer electronics).
Ability to analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior and to use this to inform strategic decisions and optimize business outcomes.
Project Management Expertise:
Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary marketing and commercial projects across diverse geographies and functional teams.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to deliver on time.
Cultural Sensitivity & Adaptability:
Comfort working in an international environment and the ability to adapt global strategies to local contexts.
Ability to navigate cultural differences and manage diverse teams with varying business practices and expectations.
Experience in Sales Training & Development:
Experience in implementing training programs for sales teams and channel partners to ensure successful adoption and sales of products.
Education & Experience:
A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in commercial leadership roles, ideally with a background in sales, marketing, and project management within the healthcare, medical device, or consumer electronics industries.
A master’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
Fluency in Denmark & English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
As the ideal Commercial Director you will have a balanced approach to leadership, blending strategic thinking with operational excellence. You are results-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced, multi-channel environment, and possess the flexibility to adapt strategies quickly based on market feedback. With a collaborative mindset and a commitment to both global consistency and local relevance. As a person, you naturally develop trust-based relationships. You are a good listener and possess people skills enabling you to drive projects in a matrix organization with many stakeholders across multiple sites. You should be able to travel 40-60 days a year.
