Job summary

First National Bank of Williamson is seeking a Commercial Credit Underwriter to assess and monitor the credit quality of routine C&I and CRE loans. You will analyze financial performance, cash flow, and risk, prepare concise recommendations, and collaborate with lenders and management to address portfolio concerns.

The role requires a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in Excel and credit systems, and the ability to apply bank policy with sound judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• At least 2 years of commercial credit, lending, accounting, audit, or finance experience.
• Ability to independently analyze routine commercial credits, write clear recommendations, and apply bank policy.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and analyze new loans, renewals, modifications, and extensions within size, risk, and complexity limits.
• Evaluate borrower creditworthiness, repayment sources, management experience, industry risks, and guarantor exposure.
• Collect and analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, DSCR, leverage, liquidity, and collateral.
• Prepare credit memoranda and recommend loan structure, covenants, and risk ratings.
• Coordinate with lenders, Loan Operations, and Credit Administration to support timely credit decisions.
• Maintain complete credit files and ensure compliance with bank policies.
• Monitor borrower performance, renewals, maturities, and risk trends; adjust decisions as needed.
• Elevate covenant breaches and material credit concerns promptly.
• Assist with criticized/classified loan monitoring and external review responses.
