Job summary

B&H Photo Video is seeking a Credit Specialist in New York to evaluate new and existing credit applications, assess fraud indicators, and perform background checks. You will update profiles, set credit limits, and communicate decisions to applicants while coordinating with Sales and A/R teams.

The role also involves maintaining the department’s phone queue and mailbox, and producing periodic activity reports to monitor account health.

Job description

Job Overview:

The Credit Specialist processes applications from new customers as well as existing ones who like to establish credit terms or adjust their current credit line. The Specialist reviews the application for indications of fraud and perform necessary research to conduct background check. S/he interacts with customers in a timely manner to gather necessary information required to process the application. Up on approval, the Specialist updates the customer profile, enter credit limits in to the system and informs the applicant the result of their application. In conjunction with the team, s/he manages department phone queue line, mailbox, requests from Sales, A/R etc. Additionally, the Credit Specialist monitors customer’s accounts on an annual basis and produces reports as needed.
