Job summary

Mural is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its in-house team, focusing on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements for SaaS products and partnerships. You will partner with GTM, product, revenue, and privacy teams to align legal risk with business goals.

The role requires a JD, state Bar membership, 4+ years of SaaS contract experience, and the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience negotiating and structuring commercial agreements, SaaS/tech focus, in-house or law firm experience considered
• JD from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state Bar in good standing
• Knowledge of core SaaS concepts and data privacy frameworks
• Strong business judgment and ability to make pragmatic, risk-adjusted decisions under time pressure
• Excellent communicator who translates legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders and builds relationships with Sales/GTM partners
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and high volume of matters
• Experience with AI-assisted contracting tools

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements: SaaS subscriptions, MSAs, SOWs, RFPs, NDAs
• Serve as primary legal contact for Sales; partner with Account Executives and leadership to structure terms, manage risk, close deals
• Partner with Deal Desk, Revenue Ops, and Finance on pricing and discounts
• Advise on data privacy and security terms in customer agreements with Privacy/Security teams
• Own and refine contract templates, fallback positions, and negotiation playbooks
• Negotiate and manage partner, reseller, and vendor/procurement agreements
• Support contract renewals, upsells, amendments, and post-signature questions
• Identify ways to streamline contracting, including AI-assisted drafting/review
