Job summary

Appsierra Group seeks a commercial attorney to join a fast-growing legal team and advise on a broad range of commercial and technology matters. The role will focus on data licensing, inbound technology transactions, marketing, procurement, and commercial contracts.

You will work closely with business and technical teams, translating legal and contractual risks into practical recommendations and expanding the remit as the business grows.

Qualifications

• JD and active bar admission in at least one US state
• Significant experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial and technology agreements
• Experience with data, software, technology, or IP contracts
• Ability to assess material business risk vs legal risk
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to understand technical products and business models quickly

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including data licensing, marketing, and technology agreements
• Support vendor, partnership, SOW, NDA and other contracts
• Advise internal stakeholders on contractual and legal risks in business terms
• Develop understanding of products, business operations, technology, and data flows
• Address novel legal questions with sound judgment and escalation when needed
• Develop contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and self-service resources
• Identify opportunities to improve contract review, legal intake, automation, and knowledge management using AI
• Help build scalable legal processes as commercial activities grow
