FirstEnergy is seeking a qualified attorney to serve as a primary commercial legal advisor for data center and large-load customer transactions, based in Akron, Ohio. You will structure, draft, negotiate, and manage sophisticated agreements, provide risk guidance, and align contract terms with technical and business objectives across cross-functional teams.

The role offers collaboration with inside counsel, outside counsel, and leadership to drive strategic growth while ensuring regulatory

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the United States with good standing.
• Minimum five years in commercial transactions or complex contracting.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiation, drafting, review, and administration of customer-facing commercial agreements.
• Advise clients on commercial, legal, operational, and reputational risk.
• Structure and close strategic transactions involving large customer load growth.
• Develop templates, playbooks, and contracting processes for consistency and speed.
• Coordinate with regulatory, engineering, finance, and legal teams on contract terms.
