Job summary

The Personnel Consulting Group seeks a hands-on Project Manager for a growing commercial general contractor in the Greater Baton Rouge area. You will oversee commercial construction projects from kickoff through final handover, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to budget.

Reporting to executive leadership, you will manage job-site execution, project budgets, subcontractor coordination, and client relationships across regional developments, with emphasis on safety, quality, and proactive

Qualifications

• Proven track record managing commercial construction projects for a general contractor.
• Expertise in cost-loaded scheduling, subcontracts, document control, and budget management.
• Strong operational problem-solving with a lean management approach.
• Clear communication with field crews, architects, engineers, and client representatives.
• Valid driver’s license with regular site visits across the Greater Baton Rouge area.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall project delivery to complete commercial builds on schedule and within budget.
• Create detailed work breakdowns, baseline schedules, and risk logs within five days of project award.
• Partner with field superintendents, subcontractors, and inspectors to ensure daily progress meets quality and safety standards.
• Manage pay applications, cost forecasting, and change-order logs to protect project profitability.
• Complete job closeouts with zero open punch-list items and final owner turnover within ten days of substantial completion.
• Provide weekly project status, schedule variance, and cash-flow updates directly to ownership.
