Qualifications

Project Manager - Commercial Construction

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from pre‑construction through closeout. The role is responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships. The ideal candidate combines hands‑on construction knowledge with proven project management skills for commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead planning, scheduling and execution of commercial construction projects, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.


• Develop, manage and monitor project budgets and forecasts; implement cost control measures to meet financial targets.


• Coordinate procurement and manage subcontractors and suppliers, including scope negotiation and performance oversight.


• Maintain rigorous quality control and health & safety compliance on site, enforcing company and regulatory standards.


• Serve as primary point of contact for clients, consultants and internal stakeholders; provide regular project updates and manage expectations.


• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and issues; develop contingency plans and elevate when necessary.


• Prepare and manage change orders and claims, ensuring timely documentation and approval.


• Oversee project documentation, reporting and record keeping, including progress reports, RFIs and meeting minutes.


• Mentor and lead project teams, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.


• Manage project closeout activities, including commissioning, punchlist resolution, final invoicing and handover to client.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience leading commercial construction projects.


• Demonstrated knowledge of construction methods, commercial building systems and on‑site project delivery.


• Proven experience in budgeting, cost control, scheduling and contract administration.


• Familiarity with project management and construction software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore or similar).


• Professional certification such as PMP, CAPM, or equivalent is preferred.


• Health & safety certification (e.g., OSHA 30, SMSTS or equivalent) and a strong safety-first mindset.


• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities, make decisions under pressure and work on‑site as required.


• Experience negotiating with clients, subcontractors and suppliers on commercial projects.
