Job summary

IBP, a leading supplier of specialty construction products, seeks a detail-oriented Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for commercial projects involving division 10 items. You will review plans, perform takeoffs, coordinate pricing, and support bids from pre-bid through handoff, communicating with contractors and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience in construction estimating, strong math and analytical skills, and proficiency with Excel and takeoff tools like Bluebeam

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial construction estimating or related subcontractor environment.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, schedules, addenda.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with estimating software/takeoff tools such as Bluebeam or PlanSwift.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to identify applicable construction specialties scope.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for specialty products.
• Solicit, review, and compare vendor quotes for pricing accuracy and competitiveness.
• Prepare bid proposals, clarifications, exclusions, and alternates for stakeholders.
• Track bid opportunities, deadlines, addenda, and project updates for timely submissions.
• Communicate with architects, general contractors, vendors, and internal teams to clarify requirements.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, quotes, and project documents.
• Assist with project handoff after award, including pricing details and vendor information.
• Support and revise estimates when project scope changes.
• Stay informed on product lines, market trends, and pricing.
